Who We Are

Our History

Established in 1984, the Ethiopian Christians Fellowship Church in Houston had a modest beginning with only eight members, six of whom were part of the choir. Over the years, the congregation experienced significant growth, boasting over 500 active members with a continuous upward trajectory. In November 1989, the church achieved official incorporation in the state of Texas and later obtained 501C status from the Internal Revenue Service.

Initially, the church conducted its services in rented spaces until 1997 when they secured land and constructed their own facility in the southwest part of the city. As the number of attendees continued to rise, the church faced space constraints, prompting plans for expansion. This expansion aimed to include classrooms for children, a larger sanctuary, and an expanded fellowship hall.

However, amidst the expansion plans, a neighboring church facility became available for sale, presenting a compelling opportunity. Seizing this chance, in August 2015, the church successfully relocated to the new facility, providing ample space to accommodate its growing congregation.
